The Company
Colt provides world-class network and voice connectivity to businesses across the world. They’ve been specialists in their field for over two decades – and are recognised as an innovator and pioneer in Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Functions Virtualisation (NFV).
They are currently looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to cover maternity leave for 13 months.
Role Overview
This role provides strategic partnering to VPs, Directors and their Senior Management Teams. Acts as an account manager for the HR Service to the business and pro-actively works with the HRBP Directors in order to develop a sub functional-specific approach to the people agenda driven from business HR strategy and closely supporting the overall aim of the function(s).
HR Business Partnering
Provide advice, guidance, direction, and consultative services to the functional leaders on people-related matters. Partner with People Leaders within a department or function providing coaching, support and advice on people issues and leadership team effectiveness
Understand the business environment (e.g. competitor analysis, benchmarking, trends) and emerging strategies in the wider business environment and provide key business and functional insights to the HR centres of excellence in the development and execution of new HR programmes
Influence and execute Colt People Strategy ensuring functions’ business goals can be achieved through robust, commercial and effective people plans
Actively drive and model a high performance culture
Translate HR strategy into practical and effective HR solutions, where required, in conjunction with the centres of excellence
Develop implementation plans to support change management initiatives and serve as a change agent for your function
Serve as a partner to functional leaders to develop, manage and execute on reorganisation projects (restructuring, outsourcing, etc.) working closely with business stakeholders, local HR and finance to ensure the plan is on track and appropriately accounted for in Total Labour Cost and Total Labour Resource reporting as well as the restructuring provisions
Act as a coach, challenger and influencer to functional leaders, and drive increased manager effectiveness
Responsible for executing on the annual performance management cycle, talent management and succession planning initiatives, in conjunction with the HR centres of excellence
Manage annual HR processes in partnership with the centres of excellence
Lead and project manage the development and implementation of organisational effectiveness and change management initiatives in the function
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
Work with functional leaders to analyse data resulting from the employee engagement survey and develop and implement action plans to address opportunities
Acts as an escalation point for HR Country Teams for matters relating to the function
Project manage restructuring and support VPs and SMTs through change management ensuring organisation effectiveness. Work in partnership with Employee Relations to deliver change, liaising with works councils (EWC and NWC)
Skills & Experience
Requires broad experience across a wide range of HR disciplines, preferably in an international environment
Proven record of strategic influencing, a credible activist
Displays solid judgement

5+ years broad, global HR experience preferred
Terms
This role is part of the Returners@Colt Programme and is seeking applications from those with an HR background who have had a career break of 18 months or more.
The role is a for a fixed term contract period of 13 months with training and development offered. The role is remote until Jan 2022 and then can be done remotely or on a hybrid basis (the office is based in Shoreditch, close to Old Street tube). The role is seeking full-time hours with a competitive salary on offer (£50-£60k).
