Architect

Architect, Sevenoaks practice, c30 hrs per/wk up to full-time, c£30-£42k FTE* (depending on experience).

The Company

This award-winning Sevenoaks architecture practice provides a friendly and expert architecture service to the local community. They are a Which? Trusted Trader and manage mostly residential projects. Due to continuing growth, they are looking for a qualified architect to join their friendly and talented team.

The Role

The successful candidate will need to be both creative and pragmatic. You will be comfortable dealing directly with clients and working on a variety of projects, from conceptual designs through to technical drawings. The opportunity will give you the chance to work on projects across the mostly Residential sector working within the wider team to deliver.

Compile technical information for use in the planning of projects, such as client requirements, site surveys and building regulations.
Prepare plans using computer aided design (AutoCAD) software, as well as traditional drawing methods.
Prepare applications for approval by regulatory bodies.
Develop specifications for construction work.
Provide advice on technical matters to the project team.

Candidate Specification

Good understanding of the development process from conception through to completion.
Relevant planning/architectural qualifications/knowledge (Minimum RIBA part qualified).
Broad understanding of Local Authority policies and Permitted Development Rights.
Working knowledge of Building Regulation and approved documents.
Excellent design and drafting skills and proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD)
To be able to carry out architectural surveys.
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Full driving licence.

Location & Hours

This is an office-based role, based in Sevenoaks, in a large spacious office with free parking. There will be a requirement to travel to client sites occasionally.
The client is open to full or part-time working. Typical full-time hours are 9am-530pm, although flexibility and reduced hours will be considered (for example, school hours).

Salary and Benefits

Salary £30k-£42k FTE (dependent on experience).This is a permanent role, with the successful candidate being employed by the practice. However, they will consider a temp to perm or freelance arrangement for the right person.
20 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays.
