Business Development Manager– Commercial Services, Law Firm, min 30 hrs (ideally full-time), Hybrid, Attractive Salary and Benefits

The Role
The role is seeking a highly credible B2B business development professional to help drive forward opportunities in both new business and with existing clients. You will be responsible for the management of sales pipelines (generation and nurturing) for all commercial services and commercial property teams.
Understanding client wants is key to this role so you must have the ability to listen to clients and propose the right solutions for them. You must also have the sales skills and experience needed to manage opportunities and get them over the line.
Reporting to the Head of BD & Marketing you will implement the Firm-wide and commercial services and commercial real estate group campaigns, and ensure timely delivery and budgetary control of assigned activities.
The role will involve high levels of interaction with all business to business areas of the firm to increase the engagement in new business development, providing guidance as well as hands on support on new business development campaigns, collateral creation, award submissions and events and seminar planning.
Key Responsibilities
• Understanding the full marketing mix and how new business development campaigns supports brand building and revenue generation.
• In conjunction with the Head of M&BD, create and develop BD campaigns and campaigns to drive new business.
• Build, maintain and pursue a focused sales pipeline, developed from discussion with partners and thorough research of both cold and warm leads
• Identifying hot topics and industry trends and developing new business development, Keep in Touch (KIT) and individual pursuit activities in response.
• Establish strong relationships with key referrers – maintain and develop these relationships to further drive future business.
• Fully lead and manage business development activities including face to face meetings.
• Develop a strong relationship with the business development partner for the commercial services and commercial real estate groups.
• Plan, execute and attend networking events, seminars, conferences etc.
• Build strong internal relationships with the firm’s partners and key business services heads.
• Supporting the Key Account Management, pricing and product development efforts.
• Working with the marketing team to produce bids/tenders/value propositions.
• Day to day management of Sector Campaigns.
• Providing guidance on pricing and profitability.
The Candidate
Qualifications
Degree educated
Expert knowledge of Microsoft word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Skills and Experience
• Experience across the full BD mix from Key Account Management to bidding.
• Experience at managing activities targeted toward commercial organisations.
• Experience of budget control.
• Professional Services or financial services experience is required.
• Experience of working within an industry sector is an advantage.
• Ambitious and motivated, proven completer/finisher.
• Strong team player.
• The confidence to work with senior individuals internally and externally; happy to challenge views.
• Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and programmes.
• A dynamic approach to sales.
• Good knowledge of PACE, SPIN or similar recognised sales management process.
• Good knowledge of bid management processes.
• Strong project management skills.
• Expert communication skills, including ability to write with influence, strong copywriting, proof-reading and editing ability and a ‘plain English’ approach.
• High level of visual accuracy and attention to detail.
• Good numeracy and reporting skills.
Terms
The role is seeking a minimum of 30 hrs/wk and, ideally, full-time. The role will be a hybrid with time split between the clients’ offices and remote working. The client has offices in Reading and Uxbridge.
