A swiftly growing social media marketing agency is seeking a talented Digital/Content Marketing Manager to implement the company’s internal content marketing strategy. You’ll implement a content marketing plan including managing writers to produce and publish content for our blog; publicise the content using social media and email marketing; build backlinks to drive SEO; build marketing funnels, in order to drive relevant web traffic.
You’ll initially be implementing our existing marketing strategy – but you’ll be optimising, building, and improving the strategy over time. You’ll be confident producing regular reporting on marketing activities to demonstrate growth.
100 Pound Social works with over 160 UK companies, providing low cost social media marketing packages. On a daily basis, you’ll work with our small, friendly core team of 6 and a wider team of 20+ Content Creators, Writers, and Editors. The entire team works remotely from various locations across the UK.
The role
Content marketing:
- Creating a content plan in 4-8 week increments using our keyword research, planning TOFU, MOFU, and BOFU content
- Using SEO techniques to plan content that will rank
- Update keywords as needed
- Manage a team of writers to produce and publish 2-3x 1,000 word content pieces per week (blogs, customer interviews etc.), plus longer form content pieces (ebook giveaways etc)
- Edit articles and lay-up on website, including inter-linking, and SEO setup
- Use ActiveCampaign to build download forms and embed on website for free content downloads
Promotion
- Build out various channels and reformat content for promotional purposes across different channels
- Work with our Social Media Manager to ensure content is promoted across our social channels
- Promote content alongside our services and offers through our mailing list in fortnightly newsletters
- Build email funnels around free content giveaways
- Run promotional webinars and events
Backlink building / SEO:
- Implement Backlink building strategies to build backlinks from reputable sites for each new piece of content in order to drive traffic
- Become active across social networks (Quora, Facebook Groups, Forums), answering questions, leaving valuable comments, and linking back to relevant content we’ve published
- Combine the content and backlink strategy to drive up relevant web traffic month on month
Manage Mailing List
- Managing an ongoing strategy to grow our mailing list in ActiveCampaign
- Use ActiveCampaign tagging and automations to push prospects from TOFU to BOFU
- Regularly cleaning the mailing list and keeping tags up to date
- Report on and optimise: list growth, open rate, click through rate
Website management
- Monitor the WordPress site and make minor changes as needed to keep the side up-to-date to reflect product and offer changes.
Reporting
- Comfortable reading data, setting goals and producing reports
- Confident using Google analytics and Google Search Console
- Produce Monthly reports to demonstrate growth & set new goals
About you
The ideal candidate will be:
- An excellent writer with an eye for good content
- Experience in content planning and implementing a content marketing strategy
- Tech savvy and able to use (or quickly learn to use) platforms such as: ActiveCampaign and WordPress
- Experience building and implementing a backlink /SEO strategy
- Confident setting goals and producing reports using tools like Google Analytics
- Take initiative and present new and exciting ideas
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritise and multitask
- Self-motivated and able to work independently from a home office
- Process driven and highly organised
- Deadline and results driven
Preferred, but not essential:
- Experience with paid ads
- Experience managing remote writers and editors
