This company is one of the largest independent chartered accountancy groups in the West of England. They fully support flexible working, open to part remote working and part office based (most roles can be worked 40% in office, 60% remote). They appreciate the need for flexibility and are also open to employees flexing the hours, with later or earlier start or finish times. This role is based in their Trowbridge office, but could be worked 2 days in office and 3 remotely. There will be clients visits in the area.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
• Maintaining a productive relationship with clients in the portfolio, maintaining regular contact dealing with any specific queries or problems and assisting with/undertaking project work as required to meet agreed deadlines.
• Acting as a point of contact for the Partner’s portfolio in their absence.
• Ensuring that appropriate information is fed into the compliance team in a timely manner.
• Completing more complex accounts work for clients as required by the Partner, where it is not appropriate for the activities to be completed in the compliance centre.
• Undertaking ad-hoc project work as required by the Partner.
• Where appropriate, reviewing the work carried out by the compliance centre staff, checking this for accuracy, quality and feeding back.
• Identifying opportunities for obtaining new work with clients and attending potential client meetings.
• Generating and following through activity regarding new ideas and approaches to client concerns or issues.
Minimum Candidate Requirements
• Qualified ACA/ACCA
• 5 years’ practice experience ideally.
• Wide range of general practice experience for owner managed businesses, including personal tax (essential)
• Understanding of IRIS Software (desirable)
• Interpersonal skills to gain credibility internally and with clients.
• Mobility across the practice offices and client sites.
• Ability to work outside of normal office hours when client needs require it.
• Expected to participate in networking and business development events outside of working hours.

Hours
This is a permanent position, either part time or full time, hours and days negotiable.
Location – Trowbridge and remote (2 days in office, 3 days at home, plus visits to clients in the area).
